How is the motor cooled and lubricated?
The pump uses the cryogenic liquid itself for cooling and lubrication. A portion of the pumped fluid is routed through the motor and across the bearings to remove heat. This is highly efficient because the intense cold allows for a much smaller motor than a traditional air-cooled version.
